Two Worcester City Museums have joined forces to offer visitors a saving and the chance to visit both historic sites.

The Commandery and The Museum of Royal Worcester are launching the brand new ‘Pikes and Porcelain Saver Ticket’ this week and will be available to buy from the Worcester Tourist Information Centre.

The new ticket will allow visitors to explore both museums at a discounted price as well as the option to enjoy a self-led Highlights Tour at the venues.

Sophie Heath, Director of Museum of Royal Worcester and Councillor Mike Johnson, Chairman of the Joint Museums Committee celebrate the Pikes and Porcelain ticket

The Pikes and Porcelain ticket will be £11 and will be available to purchase from the Tourist Information Centre at The Guildhall. This price includes a 21% discount over the two museums, and each venue will be offering a self-led highlight tour for free as well as the use of the full audio tour of Museum of Royal Worcester and daily talks at The Commandery.

Sophie Heath, Director of Museum of Royal Worcester commented; “We’re delighted to be working with Museums Worcestershire to invite people to discover the rich heritage of this area so close to the centre of Worcester and to showcase some of the star objects in our collection.”

Both venues also have onsite cafés and shops giving visitors the option to have a full day out with refreshments and to take away Worcester inspired gifts or further reading on the history of Worcester and these iconic venues.

Councillor Mike Johnson, Chair of the Joint Committee, commented “We see this as a really great initiative for both local residents and visitors to Worcester. The Commandery and Museum of Royal Worcester have both played a key role in Worcester’s history over many centuries. From the Battle HQ for the last battle in the English Civil War at The Commandery in 1651, to the many years of industry and beautiful collections from Worcester porcelain, the Museum of Royal Worcester having collections from as far back as 1751 there really is so much to explore.”

Pikes and Porcelain tickets are on sale now from Worcester’s Tourist Information Centre at The Guildhall. For more information please call 01905 726311.
