Crack open the Easter holiday fun this April – between Colourful Crafts and the Easter Eggstravaganza egg hunt, there’s a fantastic day out (or two!) on the cards at Hartlebury Castle.
Create beautiful crafts brimming with colour to take home and enjoy for days to come. Children can come up with their very own designs inspired by colourful stained-glass windows, embrace springtime by making paper hyacinths, and try their hand at some fun pebble painting.
Rangoli sand art – a colourful art form which originated in India – can also be enjoyed by families during the holidays. The crafts are on during both weeks of the holidays: Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5, Thursday 6 April, and Tuesday 11, Wednesday 12, Thursday 13 April; whole-site admission + £3.50.
Then, families can explore the Museum, Castle and grounds with the exciting Scavenger Hunt trail. Search through the rooms of the museum to seek out the colourful objects – can you find them all? The trail runs from Tuesday 4 to Sunday 16 April; whole-site admission + 50p (the trail is included with the crafts).
Over the Easter Bank Holiday weekend, visitors can join the Easter Eggstravaganza, and take part in the Castle’s Easter egg hunt. Hunts are at 11.30am, 1pm & 2pm, with a ‘4 years and under’ session at 10am. All hunters receive a chocolate egg and more chocolate surprises along the way. Dairy-free options are also available.
Families can also spot the Easter bunny, listen to themed stories in the Carriage Circle and enter the competition to win a bigger chocolatey prize. The Scavenger Hunt trail will continue over the weekend, so there is plenty to explore inside and out. Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt are £6.50 and whole-site admission tickets must be purchased alongside. Tickets can be bought on the Hartlebury Castle website.
“The Easter holidays are a really exciting time to visit Hartlebury, there’s so much to get stuck into and you can meet the Easter bunny too! The springtime grounds are a beautiful place to spend time in as well – perfect for a relaxing picnic or a run around for the children,” Rachel Robinson, Museum Manager at Worcestershire County Museum, Hartlebury Castle.
Spring is the perfect time to take a walk around the moat to the fantastic play area among the trees, and visitors can refuel at Hayley’s Kitchen café on site or settle into one of the lovely picnic areas which have accessible benches. Parking is free.
Visitors can book in advance and find out full details on Hartlebury Castle’s website: hartleburycastle.com.
