This Sunday 8 September sees the final day of the incredibly popular exhibition Dinosaurs on the Doorstep at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum.  Since opening on 13 July, the exhibition has attracted more than 15,000 visitors, many of them families. Visitors have praised the exhibition, the family activities and the dinosaur trail through the building:

“Absolutely great. Kids massively enjoyed the dinosaur trail”

“Thank you. Loved seeing the dinosaurs. The best bit is dressing up”

“Really good, I enjoyed seeing the dinosaur exhibition”

Dinosaurs on the Doorstep highlights the dinosaurs which roamed Britain. More than 100 species of dinosaurs have been found in the UK and the exhibition features impressive skeletons and real fossils from 150 million years ago. Visitors have come face to face with harmless herbivores and terrifying tyrannosaurs, teeth and tail bones, jaws and claws. Children have loved the opportunity to touch real fossils, bones and even dinosaur poo!

Museums Worcestershire Marketing Manager Helen Large says: “It’s been a tremendous summer for families in Worcester with dinosaurs in the museum and penguins all around the city. It has been a pleasure to welcome so many people to the Art Gallery & Museum and to see so many excited children loving the huge dinosaur skeletons and enjoying the trails and activities. We will all be sorry to see the dinosaurs go on their way.”

Dinosaurs on the Doorstep is free and is open Tuesday – Saturday 10am – 4pm and Sunday 10am – 3pm. The exhibition closes Sunday 8 September. For more information contact the Art Gallery and Museum on 01905 25371 OR visit www.museumsworcestershire.org.uk or follow @worcestermuseum
