Hop on over for a brilliant family day out at Hartlebury Castle in the heart of the Worcestershire countryside in the Easter holidays.

Over the Easter weekend (Friday – Monday), visitors can join the Easter Eggstravaganza and take part in one of the Castle’s Easter egg hunts, with a guaranteed chocolate egg for every hunter (dairy-free available). Families can meet the Easter bunny, enjoy Easter crafts and follow the trail around the Castle. Tickets for the Easter Egg Hunt are £6.50 and whole-site admission tickets must be purchased alongside at hartleburycastle.com.

Children can spring into crafty creativity by decorating an Easter pot to keep chocolate eggs, a pot plant or pencils in, and making clay prints inspired by the nature you can find around the beautiful grounds. The clay prints can be hung on the wall at home! Then, follow the fun spring trail as you explore the Castle and County Museum from Saturday 12 April – Sunday 26 April (excluding 14 April).

Craft activities are on Tuesday 15 – Thursday 17 April (Easter pots) and Tuesday 22 – Thursday 24 April (clay prints). Whole-site admission plus £3.50 for crafts applies and booking is available at hartleburycastle.com.

Explore the Bishop’s Palace, County Museum, and beautiful grounds. Discover the story of Worcestershire and the place the Bishops of Worcester called home for 1,000 years. A walk around the historic moat is a lovely addition to the day as the spring flowers begin to emerge. Enjoy picturesque views and have a go on the woodland play area! Make sure to stop off at the bird hide to see what wildlife you can spot on your way.

“Easter is a great time of year to visit. There’s so much going on for all the family in the holidays, it’s the perfect place for a picnic, and you get to meet the Easter bunny over the weekend too!” Pippa Ashmore, Events and Visitor Services Coordinator at Worcestershire County Museum, Hartlebury Castle.

Refuel with coffee, ice cream, and homemade food at Hayley’s Kitchen café or settle into the Orchard Picnic Area which has accessible benches as well as games for children to play.

Hartlebury Castle is situated just off the A449 between Kidderminster and Worcester. Parking is free. Visitors can book in advance and can plan their visit on Hartlebury Castle’s website: hartleburycastle.com.

Spring crafts at Hartlebury Castle

The Easter holidays have arrived – hop on over for a brilliant family day out at Hartlebury Castle and enjoy some crafty creativity while you’re here.

Tuesday 15 to Thursday 17 April: children can get creative with decorating a pot to take home. You could use yours to collect mini eggs, hold a pot plant, or keep pencils in. Yours could be a bunny pot with ears, bunny feet and face, or something completely unique!

Tuesday 22 to Thursday 24 April: be inspired by the beautiful nature around the grounds at Hartlebury Castle and make your own prints in clay. We’ll be using air-drying clay, so you can take your clay creations home to hang on the wall.

Whole-site admission + £3.50 for crafts (includes the spring family trail). Book online in advance at hartleburycastle.com or drop in on the day.
