The Transport Gallery is currently closed for essential maintenance. We are taking this opportunity to assess possible improvements to this part of the site, and we hope to have an update for you later this year. Please be assured there is still plenty for you to enjoy at Hartlebury Castle!

The most famous section of our Travel & Transport gallery is the unique collection of Vardoes, showing the evolving style of the Vardo used by Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities. Other horse drawn vehicles in the display include carriages, farm trailers and commercial carts as well as the more unusual vehicles such as an ambulance, hearse and fire engine. Also on show is a selection of bicycles and a ‘Castle 3’ car, a special 3-wheeled car manufactured right here in Kidderminster and the only working model left in the world.
