Visit The Commandery all year with a Worcester Residents’ Pass

Worcester residents can celebrate The Commandery’s history with the Worcester Resident Pass – visit through the year from only £7.95.

The Commandery has seen a thousand years of Worcester’s history unfold and has always been there for the people of Worcester as a place of shelter or learning.

From its beginnings as a monastic hospital and becoming the Royalist battle headquarters in the English Civil War to being the home of a school for the blind in the Victorian era, The Commandery has played a vital role in the city.

Worcester residents can celebrate its history with a Worcester Residents’ Pass which allows admission to the historic building and gardens in the heart of the city through the year from only £7.95.

Enjoy a year of visits, events and family fun

The Commandery hosts fantastic events through every season including Living History weekends, medieval celebrations and the traditional spring celebration Oak Apple Day – bringing its rich history to life for families and adults alike.

Step back in time to explore tales of treason, treachery and tragedy in one of Worcester’s oldest and most beautiful buildings.

The Residents’ Pass is perfect for families to enjoy activities and days out with the children come rain or shine. The gardens are the perfect place for a picnic, to lounge in the sunshine, to run off some energy, or enjoy a coffee and cake at the canal-side café, Commandery Coffee.

Rainy days need not be a worry as there is so much to keep younger visitors entertained inside. Discover your regiment in the Civil War Story exhibition and find out how brother fought brother in the last battle of the Civil War, the Battle of Worcester 1651. Travel back to medieval times in the Painted Chamber and learn about medicines and treatments from the past.

There are family craft activities during school holidays – a small charge may apply for craft sessions, but your pass gives you free entry to The Commandery, so you can enjoy a great day out!
