Bite-size talk: Benjamin Williams Leader – A Homecoming
Tuesday 7 February 2023, 2 – 2.30pm | Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum
The best-known painting by Worcester’s most famous artist, Benjamin Williams Leader, has returned to his home-city for a short period.
‘February, Fill Dyke’, the beautiful, waterlogged evening landscape inspired by the winter fields of Worcestershire is the centrepiece of the display Benjamin Williams Leader: A Homecoming from 14 January to 25 February 2023. The painting is currently on loan to Worcester from Birmingham Museums Trust.
Garston Philipps, now-retired curator who worked at Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum for over 50 years, and Collections Assistant Kate Banner, reflect on the enduring legacy of Leader in this special Bite-size Talk.
