Museum After Hours – Paint the Streets
Friday 20 October, 6 – 8.30pm | Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum
Get your friends together and enjoy the Art Gallery and Museum on a Friday night…
Get yourself a themed cocktail, check out Paint the Streets after hours, and have a dance to music courtesy of Zee-Rock.
Zee-Rock has been DJing since 1991, originally inspired by the DMC dj battles, 6 minute showcase sets and people like Dj Cheese, Cash Money, DJ Pogo and Q-Bert to name a few. Keeping old skool hip hop traditions alive utilising two copies of the same record with ‘switchbacks’ or ‘doubles’… expect quick mixes, complex scratch patterns and good vibes over a funk, soul and classic hip hop backdrop.
The exhibition Paint the Streets celebrates the story of graffiti and street art in partnership with Worcester Paint Festival. It explores the work of pivotal artists from the US and UK such as Basquiat, Haring, Shepard Fairey (Obey), Banksy, Goldie and Inkie, alongside a selection of current street artists who have been part of Worcester Paint Festival. It’s on from Saturday 16 September 2023 until Saturday 6 January 2024.
Museum After Hours – Paint the Streets has free entry and a cash bar. Just turn up and enjoy.
