Opening times

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum is open

Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm. Sundays, 10am – 3pm. [Closed Mondays and bank holidays].

Little Al’s at the Balcony café is open

Tuesday to Saturday, 10am – 3.30pm. Sundays, 10am – 2.30pm.

Please note that the lift will be unavailable until March 2025 while upgrade work is carried out.

During this period, access to the ground and first floors will be by stairs only.
We apologise that these improvements will temporarily limit access for some visitors and aim to complete the development as quickly as possible.

  • The Art Gallery and Museum is fully accessible and has an easy access toilet
  • There are several steps up to the front entrance on Foregate Street; there is a level-access entrance at pavement level on Taylor’s Lane with a lift which services all floors – the lift is unavailable until March 2025 due to redevelopment works. 
  • A wheelchair is available for public use
  • The Gallery is equipped with an Induction Loop
  • Baby changing facilities are available
  • Guide and assistance dogs welcome

Work is taking place from 2024 to 2027 to improve visitor facilities, introduce new displays and create brand new galleries for the permanent collection. Some of this will temporarily affect access to the building. Find out more information to help you plan your visit.

Getting to Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum

If you are travelling by train, Worcester Foregate Street Station is a 2-minute walk from the museum, and Shrub Hill Station is a 15-minute walk.
